Graphic Design USA, based out of New York City, recently hosted both the American Web Design Awards and the Graphic Design Awards to showcase the best designs of the year. The awards are open to everyone in the community: design firms, ad agencies, in house departments, institutions, associations, freelancers, students and more. It honors outstanding work of all kinds — the best designs of the year — in print, packaging, internet, interactive, video and more.
We wanted to take a moment to recap some of the awards our team received. We’re proud of our team’s hard work and want to extend the congratulations to our clients that we collaborated with.
American Web Design Award Winners
Seaman’s Church - Website Design
SCI offers maritime education, political advocacy, and pastoral care for mariners of all faiths. We created a single custom site for all of the organization's facets, including the headquarters, Center for Maritime Education, and International Seafarers' Center.
Atlanta Humane Society - Website Design
For the AHS site, we referenced our vast knowledge of mission-based and animal-centered organizations to highlight the incredible stories of their staff members and volunteers, to give the viewer both the human and animal connection.
Carty & Co. - Website Design
Cody Gross, one of our Brand Strategists, said “Carty & Co are fantastic partners that we enjoy getting to serve. It is special to see this website be awarded for its design, but I’ve seen firsthand how it has helped impact our transition into reaching a larger digital audience.”
Illinois Holocaust Museum - Website Design
IHMEC approached Speak for a website and left with one that was backed with extensive User Journey and UX research to create a better space for them to do what they do best: telling the stories of survivors to educate the generations to come.
Baptist College of Florida - Website Design
Justin McKinney, Multimedia Manager, at Baptist College of Florida said about our partnership, “Currently, one of the most effective marketing tools an organization has is their website. Speak Creative has provided us with an amazing avenue to share our story of “Changing the World…” We could not be more pleased at the fresh look, smooth transitions, and simplicity of making changes on our new site. Our students love it!”
Highland Church of Christ - Website Design
Whitney Hochstein, one of Speak's senior designers, said “We wanted to give Highland a modern and welcoming site. It was fun to reference their existing logo throughout the site's design elements. They wanted to have people visit that said, "we found you online." Their new site will definitely help accomplish that goal.”
National Aviary - Mobile Website Design
The National Aviary works to inspire respect for nature through an appreciation of birds. We utilized custom hand-drawn patterns throughout the site to create a unique experience for each visitor.

Catalina Island Museum - Logo & Symbols
Gabby Windham, a Speak designer, said "When working on the best solution for the new logo it was imperative to both the client and our team to imbue the mark with a sense of community. From the characteristic of the building itself, such as the slanted road it resides on — to quintessential features of the island, including the waves, flora, and tile design — we did our best to create something that could be firmly rooted on Catalina Island for years to come."
Dallas Children’s Aquarium - Online Design
With an impressive 55 exhibits, The Dallas Children’s Aquarium website is informative, but also a fun, interactive experience for anyone visiting the site.
Workforce Mid-South - Logo & Symbols
The Workforce Mid-South logo was crafted with an arrow moving forward to symbolize momentum and their goal to help people get through the door to find jobs. Green was also an intentional choice for its positive connotation of a fresh start and a green light to future success.
Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center - Online Design
As a winner in both the Web Design and Graphic Design Awards, we are honored to play a small part in furthering the mission of IHMEC by educating potential and returning visitors from around the world. We’d highly recommend visiting the museum next time you’re near Chicago.
We’re excited about the projects our team is currently designing and consider it an honor to continue creating such award winning work. In addition to the projects listed above, we received 3 more awards for projects that haven’t yet released.
